AUSTRALIAN dollars will be accepted on a one for one exchange rate against the US dollar price of barge holidays in France.

That means for a $US1,990 high season holiday you'll pay $1,990 (from now until October 20) and $1,490 in the low season for a six-night cruise through the wine region of the Upper Loire Valley. Or you can tour the Champagne region for six nights for the same price.

Six-night cruises of the Burgundy region start from $1,490 and go up to $1,690.
